calculate the work done by the gas in the v-p diagram shown in attachment.

a)3.14*(p2-p1)(p2-p1)/4
b)3.14*(v2-v1)(v2-v1)/4
c)3.14*(p2-p1)(v2-v1)/4
d)3.14*(p2v2-p1v1)

my doubt is why ans a and b incorrect. the correct ans is only c.

a and b are dimensionally incorrect
only c gives unit as joules

its given a cyclic process....cyclic process doesn't mean that its a circle....
but why is it an ellipse??

if its a circle,then a and b should also be true....
because then P2-P1 = V2-V1....

and should we consider the dimensions of work in this case??
