CAT MAY GO BEYOND 7TH DECEMBER

Hi

Well things on the ground seems a lot settled for those appearing for CAT 2009 , as the number of incidents of glitches and failures in CAT online system are approaching zero. Yesterday was more or less a hassle free day with news only coming from a couple of labs about some problems being encountered; it seems authorities have got things under control finally.

But glitches are past; the latest is the question from a number of students and coaching institutes being raised - "How fair is this process?” There are allegations about the poor test content now, like questions repeating even in consecutive slots and a large number being lifted from coaching institute's material etc etc .Calls for scraping the test are gaining volume every day.

My suggestion to students is keep away from these stories, any decision regarding this will only be taken once the entire process is over (as declared by IIM CAT Convener), you still have to give your best shot, so only concentrate on your preparation with the assumption that nothing of this sort would happen and this is your best chance to get into IIMs.

It appears that CAT may be extended beyond 7th in order to accommodate students whose test had to rescheduled, though IIMs maintain that they will be accommodated by 7th but they have an option to utilize 8th and 9th (reserve days kept for any such eventuality, as stated by IIM CAT Convener). Looking at the fact that still a large number of students remain for whom reschedule dates are yet to be announced, it looks like there is a high possibility of extension of CAT beyond 7th.

 Cheers
 100Percentile Administrator
